Hi I’m Monica and I am majoring in digital design. This summer hanging with friend brought me a lot of joy like playing games and going to the hot springs with them!

How have you been using AI in your daily life?
I use AI often for work to quickly research or help with writing and correcting my grammar mistakes.

How have you been using AI in your digital design courses?
I use it for mostly researching and grammar checks when it comes to class assignments. Sometimes I use it to help with brainstorming some ideas.

What’s something surprising you learned from the reading assignment?
I was surprised by the fact that scientific progress has been slowing even though the “total number of published papers is increasing exponentially.” When I read further it kind of makes sense since there are so many papers being published that it may be harder to find something that is a major breakthrough. Furthermore, like the article mentioned progress does not have have a clear objective metric. So that made me wonder how do you determine what is a major breakthrough in science when everything is constantly evolving? 

What’s something surprising you learned from the AI literacy lecture?
I was surprised that AI falls short in identifying inaccuracies due to old data. I thought that since AI collects so much data that it can filter old data thus they could find some inaccuracies.

What are some things you can currently do better than AI?
I think I can be more creative than AI and having a better connection to people in terms of seeing the nuances when interacting with others from personality, work style and so on.
